  19. Certification in Hypnosis and Hypnotherapy does not come from any State or Federal Agency (exception: Indiana). All Certification is voluntary. Many Certification agencies invent names that make them sound "official" or even "governmental" when in fact they are not. Certification is only as good as the requirements to get it and the autonomy of the agency that provides it.

    HMI suggests student consider Certification from the Hypnotherapists Union Local 472, AFL/CIO which is governed by a Board of Directors, all Hypnotherapists, elected by the membership. What are the requirements for the three levels of Certification offered by the Hypnotherapists Union?
