Why HMI is offering this opportunity for no charge?

In July of 2004, HMI began a trial offer to the residents of the Los Angeles area, to enroll in their 4 week, Hypnosis 101 course and become a "Certified Hypnotist" for absolutely no charge. Not only did a large number of people take advantage of this offer, but a large percentage went on to enroll in HMI's full one year hypnotherapy training and internship program. This made the "no charge" offer for the 101 course a win/win situation for both the Los Angeles residents and HMI.

Because of the tremendous success HMI has experienced by offering this course for no charge in Los Angeles, we are now offering for absolutely no charge, the same course, via Streaming Video (Home Study/Distance Education), to people living outside Los Angeles County. You must have a high speed Internet connection to view streaming video.

HMI's Foundations in Hypnotherapy Course represents the nucleus of all of HMI's philosophy and is the required first step in HMI training for students seeking HMI education awards and union certification.

Regardless of the student's background or previous training, the Foundations in Hypnotherapy Course is the most important as well as the most fun and exciting of all of HMI's training programs.

The Foundations Course is full of demonstrations and practical assignments. The principal goals of the Foundations course are the Emotional and Physical (E&P) Suggestibility and Sexuality concepts, created by Dr. John Kappas.

Greatly responsible for HMI's success and reputation, these written and oral exams provide the hypnotist with a behavioral profile that enables them to organize their linguistic pattern to perfectly match the suggestibility of the subject. The use of the E & P Suggestibility profile renders virtually everyone hypnotizable.

Another tenet of HMI philosophy established in the Foundations Course is the Message Unit Theory of Hypnosis, providing students with a precise understanding of exactly what hypnosis is, how it is created and the difference between inductions that organize vs. disorganize the inhibitory process.

The Foundations Course is equally dedicated to understanding these vital theoretical concepts and the practical skills of testing suggestibility, interpreting the results and hypnotizing the subject according to his or her unique suggestibility pattern.

The result is 12 hours of fun and action packed instruction that will train you how to hypnotize yourself and others. Upon successful completion, graduates receive a Certificate of Completion in Foundations in Hypnotherapy from HMI's Nationally Accredited College of Hypnotherapy noting your recognition as a Certified Hypnotist by the AFL/CIO Hypnotherapists Union, Local 472. Graduates of HMI's Foundation Course are eligible to continue on to HMI's advanced training.

Learn with Your Personal HMI Tutor

HMI's Distance Education School literally brings the classroom into your home, first through your "streaming video seat" in the classroom and second through personal interaction with your own private HMI Tutor and participation in HMI's Virtual Classroom.

Included in the HMI Foundations in Hypnotherapy Course is your own private tutor to ask questions via email and a telephone discussion for completion of your course. This private appointment is required for successful completion of this course. During this appointment your tutor will review your final exam, ask questions and, review your demonstration of the skills you've acquired.

HMI's Virtual Classroom is exclusively for enrolled HMI Students and provide the opportunity for real time questions and answers with HMI Tutors as well as interaction with hundreds of other students simultaneously enrolled this course across the globe.

HMI Tutors are graduates of HMI's one year resident training and internship program. HMI Tutors are also certified Union Hypnotherapists with successful private practices in HMI's clinic. Your private HMI Tutor's education and clinical experience translates to personal attention and assistance with your assimilation of course material and feedback on your practical experiences.

Successful completion of this course requires both a written final exam and oral discussion of the materials and techniques with your private tutor.

How to Enroll in the Foundations Course

Here are the requirements and procedures for receiving the Foundations in Hypnotherapy Course for no charge:

• You must have a high speed Internet connection (DSL, Cable or Satellite) to view streaming video. If you do not have a high speed Internet connection please indicate that on the following Student Enrollment Form.
• You must be 18 years or older to receive this offer.
• You must live more than 50 miles from HMI's Tarzana, California location.
• You must be fluent in English.
• You must complete and submit the Student Enrollment Form on the following page. HMI does not sell information to anyone. You can request to be removed from HMI's mailing list at anytime.
• This course consists of seven (7), two hour streaming video lessons. You will receive a link for one (2 hour) streaming video lesson and printed course chapter at a time. When you complete the first lesson you must successfully complete a short quiz and submit it by email. Once received and reviewed you will be sent the next streaming video link and printed course chapter, until you complete all six lessons (total 12 hours streaming video instruction).
• You agree to complete this course within 28 days of receiving your first lesson via email.
• You must complete all seven (07) lessons with an average score of 70% or better. In addition, you must successfully complete an oral exam with your HMI Tutor. Completion of this last step will earn you an HMI Certificate of Completion for the Foundations in Hypnotherapy course and Certification as "Hypnotist" from the Hypnotherapist's Union Local 472.
• You agree to abide by all State and local laws in your area regarding the use of this material and you understand it is your responsibility to contact your State Department of Consumer Affairs, or the equivalent in your area, to discover what those laws are.
