Mr. Mark Gravelle describes the mind-body connection as “Body Syndromes,” and Mr. Gravelle explains how reducing stress and anxiety can improve the immune-system. Mark provides a hypnotic suggestion to eliminate “worry,” and Mr. Gravelle defines ‘Desensitization” as stress/anxiety replacement

Case 2: MARK GRAVELLE ON FIBROMYALGA. (10min.41sec.) Intern has three clients diagnosed with Fibromyalga. Mr. Gravelle gives a valuable definition of Fibromyalga including “Body Syndromes” and the anxiety/depression cycle. Mark stresses the importance of exploring diet and blood-sugar, and Mr. Gravelle outlines an affective approach to remedy Fibromyalga.

Case 1: SLEEP & DEPRESSION. (1min.58sec.) 42yr m. Issue: Stress-relieve; forgiving family members. Recently was arrested after he mixed Ambien (sleep-medication) with alcohol. He sleeps “too much” during the day. Mr. John Melton advises the intern to discover what is “important” for her client, and John discusses motivation and excitement.

Case 2: DREAM THERAPY FOR WEIGHT LOSS. (6min.43sec.) Female. Issue: Weight-control. Client was not convinced she was “in” hypnosis. Mr. Melton explains this “lack of conviction” as “secondary gain,” and John suggests “Dream Therapy” and dietary changes.

Case 3: REFERRAL FOR SEX-ADDICT (11min.07sec.) Male. Issue: Weight-control. Recovering alcoholic, sex-addict. Mr. Melton suggests referrals and focusing on the presenting issue.

Case 4: REPETITION IN HYPNOSIS. (13min.34sec.) 33yr f. Emotional Suggestible. Issue: Relaxation; worries too much. John discusses the importance of “repetition” from session to session, and Mr. Melton advises the intern to look into diet, exercise, and the client’s belief systems.

Case 5: THE PROBLEM OF FLIGHT TO HEALTH (20min.20sec.) Male. Issue: Believes he stutters- but no one else notices it. Mr. John Melton explains the “flight to heath” and why this is a problem.

Case 6: FINDING COMMON DENOMINATORS IN HYPNOTHERAPY. (25min.12sec.) 30yr f. She is intern’s friend. Issue: Depression; relationship problems. John discusses “ambiguity” in client issues and the importance of “focusing” on common denominators, and Mr. Melton cautions about practicing hypnotherapy with friends and family members. Mr. John Melton suggests working with “self-value” and “self-esteem.”

Case 7: INCREASING CLIENT ATTENTION ON SUGGESTIONS. (31min.22sec,) Female. Issue: Weight-loss; self-esteem; bipolar. Intern believes his client is distracted from hypnotic suggestions. Mr. Melton shares a powerful technique to engage more of a client’s attention on “suggestive ideas.”

Case 5: THE PROBLEM OF AMBIGUITY IN CLIENT ISSUES. (39min.17sec.) 30yr f. Somnambulist. Issue: Anxiety and many “bad feelings;” motivation for school. Mr. John Melton describes this case as an example of “ambiguity,” and Mr. Melton explains why this is a problem. John suggests what the intern should do in the next session with this client.
