Case 1: 42 year old male. Presenting issue: Insomnia and sleep apnea. He is taking medications for his apnea.

Case 2: 40 year old female. Presenting issue: Relationship issues with present boyfriend threatening her. Question of whether this is within scope and whether it is OK to take someone in "crisis".

Case 3: 44 year old female, high Physical Sexual. Presenting issue - Relationship issues with boyfriend. She wants her boyfriend to come into therapy and work on relationship issues. The questions is about the ethical issues and scope issues of working with two people in a relationship.

Case 4: 24 year old male somnambulist. Presenting issue: Nightmares and severe sleepwalking.

Case 5: 35 year old female. Presenting issue: Weight control. This is the ninth session. It is going well. She has lost 25 pounds so far. Yesterday she reported feeling emotionally empty because she doesn't have a relationship and she wants to start a family.

Case 6: 29 year old female - Presenting issue: Weight loss. She has had one session and has cancelled twice. The question is "should she go for cause"?

Case 7: 35 year old female comedian. Presenting issue: Stage fright.

Case 1: BASIC-ASSERTIVENESS TRAINING TECHNIQUES 28yr. M. Issue: Stressed about family, work, and confrontation. Ms. Machenberg shares a unique writing process that illuminates the client’s choices, affective hypnotic-suggestions, interventions, and- especially- Basic-Assertiveness Training techniques that Ms. Machenberg thoroughly details- very valuable information!

Case 2: WORKING OBJECTIVELY W/ MINORS OF DIVORCED PARENTS 15yr. M. Issue: Sports performance; parent’s divorce. Ms. Machenberg outlines working effectively with minors and remaining objective between the influences of warring parents. She suggests how to make an independent assessment of the client’s situation and the use of ‘therapeutic silence’. Listen for an interesting comparison between serial killer Geoffrey Dahmer and the founder of Carl’s Jr. – also NLP for teenagers!

Case 3: SUGGESTIONS FOR SLEEP & MOTHERS 12yr. F. Issue: Sleep problems. Although the girl is now sleeping better her mother still insists on reading at her bedside which, the intern fears, could contraindicate the hypnosis’ success. Ms. Machenberg, with her expertise in child-care and parenting, provides suggestions for the mother and additional suggestions for sleep. Listen for the results of a study on TV and child reading/ concentration.

Case 1: 35 year old male. Presenting issue: Want to recall memory of violent crime. He is the victim of a violent crime. He was kicked unconscious in a fight and he wants to remember who did it. He has no recollection. The case was done in HMI's Case History class and recorded on video. Mr. Kappas discusses the legal and ethical implications of this case and False Memory syndrome.

Case 1: Middle age male with M. S. Presenting issue: Memory retrieval. He was a victim of a violent crime in which he was knocked unconscious. Wants to identify attackers in police lineup but cannot recall their faces through the trauma. Mr. Kappas discusses problems with memory and regression therapy.

Case 2: 58 year old female. Presenting issue: Weight control. She is afraid that if she loses weight she will attract rnore men which will remind her of sexual abuse from childhood. She abreacts and deflects. Mr. Kappas discusses fat cells and how they communicate with the brain - as well as genetics, self-esteem, motivation, and sugar.

Case 3: 60 year old male high emotional suggestibility. Presenting issue: Blushing. He has blushed profusely since childhood. He has anticipatory anxiety about the issue especially before starting a new job.

Case 4: 23 year old female somnambulist. Presenting issue: Self esteem. Self worth. She was attacked by a pit-bull when she was a kid and has scars on her face. She feels the scars inhibit her and she wants to get over it.

Case 1: 63 year old female emotional sexual. Presenting issue: Smoking cessation. She was molested by her brother at 7-8 years old. He gave her cigarettes to keep her quiet. Her husband quit smoking in one session and rubs it in that she can't quit. Mr. Gravelle discusses smoking as stress reduction, identifying stressors, the dangers of age regression, the necessity of replacement behaviors, and the 3-steps of letting go of resentment and anger.

Case 2: 45 year old female 60% physical suggestible and low physical sexual. Presenting issue: Memory. She is an actress and wants to improve her memory of lines. Also she wants to have a child but is not sure if she wants it with her husband. She does not trust her husband. Mr. Gravelle discusses the dominant law of suggestibility: repetition, the importance of E&P sexuality, the use of ideomotor response, and the 7 qualities of a good relationship.

Case 1: 28 year old male. Presenting issue: Wants to be happier. He recently broke up with male fiancee. He feels "empty, lost, and alone"; and says he is not gay even though he loves a man. He has a history of prior vicodine abuse and may not have dealt with the recent loss of his grandparents. Mr. Melton discusses building a better general foundation.

Case 2: 28 year old female. Presenting issue: Memory enhancement. Therapist has not seen this client yet and feels that she is being vague and ambiguous about what is really going on.

Case 3: 52 year old male 52% physical suggestible and 62% physical sexual. Presenting issue: Weight loss motivation. He had a kidney removed as a result of cancer and is on medications. He hasn't had sex with his wife of 33 years in 5 years. They are thinking of separating - but both want to work on the problem. The wife is 52% physical suggestible and 52% physical sexual. Mr. Melton discusses the need of a medical referral to work with marital issues.

Case 4: Male. Presenting issue: Erectile dysfunction. The man has recently gone through radiation treatment for prostrate cancer and his problem is likely of a physical ideology. Mr. Melton suggests asking the client why he feels there might be psychological issues involved.

Case 5: 51 year old female. Presenting issue: Control of excessive behavior. She had breast cancer and wants to get back to her "fearless, adventurous self" but she feels "stuck". She is paranoid and afraid of the cancer returning. Mr. Melton discusses self-esteem, self-worth, self-image, limiting beliefs, and belief systems.

Case 6: 53 year old physical female. Presenting issue: Organization and depression. She says she has "too much stuff" - papers that need to be filed. She has unresolved issues with her parents who recently died.

Case 7: 42 year old male. Presenting issue: Addiction and relapse prevention. He is a recovering meth-amphetamine addict with 2 months clean. He may have brain damage as a result of his drug abuse - possibly paranoid schizophrenia.

Case 8: 30 year old female. Presenting issue: Agoraphobia. She is a former HMI student.

Case 9: 24 year old male. Presenting issue: Pain management. He has cancer in different parts of his body and is in pain.

Case 1: Child Hypnosis and Imagery: 7 year old female. Issue: Disruptive most of her life, mischievous at home and school, divorced parents, possible schizophrenia. This is an informative case, very necessary for any Hypnotherapist working with children. Also, for anyone curious about schizophrenia you'll be thrilled to hear the child's response to her father when he asked her why she behaves 'this way'. Mrs. Machenberg performs and educates at her peak when the subject involves children. Listen to this case if you want to learn what to say if seeing a child, including the one crucial question to ask, methods to modify child behavior, awesome hypnotic suggestions and imagery for children, and Ms. Machenberg's definition of Productive Uncertainty (a powerful technique to use with clients, children, and in other relationships).

Case 2: Therapy for Multiple Symptoms: 52 year old male. Phys. Suggestibility. Issue: Diagnosed Multiple Sclerosis and suffers anxiety, insomnia, chronic pain, and loss of sex life. Mrs. Machenberg with true professional talent gives a list of importance in descending order of what issue to work with first, second, third. She gives a special, specific suggestion to use in hypnosis that positively affects the immune system through communication. And to complete this case of immediately applicable information, Mrs. Machenberg defines auto immune disease. If your clients are a challenge because they suffer from more than one condition at the same time, listen to this case.

Case 3: Marijuana and Hypnosis: Issue: Client with Fibromyalga uses marijuana for pain. Listen to several moments of comedy as Mrs. Machenberg briefly discusses her position, on 'pot' as a Hypnotherpist, to a hysterical audience.

Case 4: Hypnotic Suggestions for M.S.: 55 year old femaile. Physical. Issue: M.S. for 20+ years, chronic and progressive. This is a very important case. Mrs. Machenberg will provide you with special hypnotic suggestions for clients with M.S. and other chronic diseases. You will learn necessary precautions and proper questions to ask.

Case 5: Therapy for Anger and Relationships: 50 year old female. High Emotional. Issue: Anger and Relationships with men. This case discussion articulated precisely by Mrs. Machenberg is an overload of information. Learn EXACTLY how to identify a client's self-fulfilling prophecy about relationships and exactly how to break that unproductive, saddening cycle. Lots of laughter but more learning as Mrs. Machenberg uses students to demo.

Case 6: Fear of Needles and Hypnosis: 54 year old male. Issue: Afraid of needles. Case 1: 23 year old female physical suggestible and emotional sexual. Presenting issue: Weight loss. After achieving her goal of losing weight she suddenly reveals to therapist a deep "self-hatred".

Case 2: 50 year old female. 85% physical suggestible and 60% emotional sexual. Presenting issue: Procrastination regarding weight loss. She has trust issues, was abused as a child, and raped twice as a teenager. Mr. Melton discusses stages of development, inner child work, goal setting, and self-empowerment.

Case 3: 64 year old mother with 65% emotional suggestibility and 42 year old daughter with 70% physical suggestibility. Presenting issue: Daughter came first for depression. Her mother came after to improve her relationship with daughter. Mr. Melton discusses scope issues regarding family system work and psychiatric medication.

Case 4: 59 year old female physical suggestible. Presenting issue: Stress regarding a decision. She does not know if she is ready to move in with her boyfriend. She wants her boyfriend to see her therapist also.

Case 5: Male somnambulist. Presenting issue: Sleep and memory problems brought on by hypersuggestibility. He wants to advance in his job but feels limited by his condition. Mr. Melton suggests discovering cause in this case rather than straight forward symptom relief.

Case 6: Female with 56% physical suggestibility. Presenting issue: Relationships and loss. She has to put her dog down and will have trouble with the loss.

Case 7: 64 year female. Presenting issue: Gambling addiction. Her gambling started after she lost her husband 4 years ago.
