Six Step Curriculum
HMI's one year of Professional Hypnotherapy Training is presented in six sequential steps. These steps provide a progression of experiences that eases the student gradually and comfortably into the skills of Clinical Hypnotherapy.
The pages that follow will explain in detail the goals and content of each course. The area below offers a thumbnail summary of the entire six steps.
Learn to Hypnotize at No Charge
Now you can take our 4 week Hypnosis 101 Course for absolutely no charge! The course meets Tuesday and Thursday nights from 7:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m. for four consecutive weeks in Tarzana, California. There is no cost or obligation for this Hypnosis 101 Course.
101 Hypnosis
The one year program is divided into two semesters, each 6 months in length. The first semester consists of course 101-401 and Handwriting Analysis. The 101 course teaches you the practical skills of learning to hypnotize.

201 Clinical Hypnosis
201 builds on that foundation by introducing you to all the different styles and modalities of hypnotherapy (i.e., NLP, Ericksonian hypnosis, medical hypnosis, dream therapy, age regression, past life regression, etc.).

301 Hypnotherapy
In 301, you are introduced to all the clinical applications (i.e. stress reduction, habit control, behavior modification, etc.). Every fourth 301 class presents a "live therapy".

Handwriting Analysis
The Handwriting Analysis class runs concurrently with 301, and presents the skills of discovering crucial information pertaining to the personality and suggestibility of subjects through their handwriting sample.

401 Clinical Applications
The 401 course is done concurrently with the 201 and 301 courses. 401 presents live therapies recorded on videotape. This provides the student the opportunity to see the real life clinical applications of the techniques at he same time they are being presented in the classroom.

501 Clinical Residency
The second semester consists of the 501 Clinical Residency, which combines class-room instruction with clinical internship. The 501 Clinical Residency divides its focus equally between the goals of building clinical skills, as well as the business expertise to be successful in private practice.
